Types of Fire Alarm Types
There are various types of fire alarms, this is because fire alarms can be used in various types of places that have different needs. For that you must know in advance the type of fire alarm and the theme you want to use the fire alarm for. So that the alarm you want to use can function well and last a long time, be sure to always use a quality fire alarm such as nohmi fire alarm, simplex fire alarm, notifier fire alarm, hooseki fire alarm, nittan fire alarm, hong chang fire alarm, hochiki fire alarm, edwards fire alarm, demco fire alarm, context plus fire alarm, and asenware fire alarm.
After knowing a quality fire alarm brand, here are the types of fire alarms that you need to know before using them:
1. ROR (Rate of Rise) Heat Detector
A heat detector is a fire extinguisher that can detect rising heat. The sensor detection area of this fire alarm can reach 50m2 for a ceiling height of 4m. As for higher ceilings, the detection area is reduced to 30m2.
The ROR head detector itself is widely used because this fire alarm works based on a rapid increase in temperature in one room even though it is still in the form of hot gusts. Generally at the point 55oC – 63oC this sensor is active and sounds the fire bell alarm. That way the fire hazard (hopefully) does not have time to spread to other areas. ROR is ideal for offices, hotel rooms, hospitals, server rooms, archive rooms, factory warehouses and more.
2. Fix Temperature
In contrast to the ROR, the Fix Temperature can detect at a direct high degree of heat. Therefore, the use of this type of fire alarm is more suitable to be placed in areas where the environment is already somewhat “hot”, such as: generator rooms, basements, food court kitchens, asbestos-roofed warehouses, welding workshops and the like.
This is because if an ROR is installed in the 'Hot' area, it will be vulnerable to False Alarms. Because the hot blow alone can cause the ROR to detect.
The effective area of this type of detector is 30m2 (at a ceiling height of 4m) or 15m2 (for a ceiling height between 4 - 8m). As with ROR, only 2 cables are needed for this detector, namely L and LC, can be reversed and can be installed directly on any brand of home alarm panel. The nature of the contact is NO (Normally Open).
3. Smoke Detector
Smoke Detector is a type of fire alarm that detects smoke that enters it. Smoke has particles that increasingly fill the smoke chamber, along with the increasing intensity of the fire. If the density of this smoke (smoke density) has passed the threshold (threshold), then the electronic circuit in it will be active. Because it contains an electronic circuit, Smoke requires a voltage.
4. Flame Detector
Flame Detector is a type of fire alarm that is sensitive to ultraviolet radiation generated by a flame. But this detector does not react to room lights, infrared or other light sources that have nothing to do with flames.
5. Gas Detector
As the name implies, this detector detects gas leaks that often occur in residential homes. This tool can detect two types of gas, namely Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
The difference between handling LPG fire alarms with LNG is that LPG is heavier than air, so if it leaks, the gas will fall to the floor (not flying into the air). Meanwhile, LNG is lighter than air, so if a leak occurs, the gas will fly into the air. This difference in gas properties determines the position of the detector.
