Product Description:
Hydrated Lime, also known as Hydrated Lime, is a chemical product produced from the processing of natural slaked lime by hydrating the slate-shaped lime. The result of this process is a fine white powder which is highly reactive. This product is packaged in easy-to-use and secure bags for transport and storage.
Calcination Process:
Rock lime (calcium carbonate) is heated gradually at high temperatures, around 900-1000 degrees Celsius, in an oven or kiln. At this temperature, a chemical reaction occurs in which the limestone decomposes into two main products, namely slaked lime (calcium oxide) and carbon dioxide gas (CO2).
Calcination Chemical Reaction:
CaCO3 (s) → CaO (s) + CO2 (g)
The result of this process is quenched lime in solid form (CaO) and CO2 gas which is released into the atmosphere. Quenched lime can be used in a variety of industrial and chemical applications due to its reactive chemical nature and many benefits.
