Information
In the installation and
installation of pipes there is always a very important process, this process is
called the connection process, when it comes to the pipe installation and
installation process sometimes in a condition where we have to do the
connection, these conditions can be in the form of pipe installation, pipe
installation location, high / low pipe installation, or other things that
require connection, it is not possible to just install a straight pipe without
any connection, the connection process on the pipes there are various
connection methods and HDPE pipe connection has 3 alternative connection
systems or 3 methods HDPE pipe splicing, the following 3 HDPE pipe splicing
methods.
1. Connecting HDPE Pipes with
Mechanical Joint, Segmented and Injection Methods
Recommended for connection
of diameter 20mm to 63 mm in diameter, this connection can be done simply, but
a few parts, if a little wrong, can have fatal impacts with damage to the
piping network, especially in the connection, this method is practically only
supported by the use of fittings, types of fittings for mechanical joint or can
be called a very diverse compression joint accessories, so we can make a
variety of piping lines as desired, Mechanical Joint Fittings are made of Poly
Propilene, different from butt fusion splicing systems that use the same
material, HDPE. Poly Propilene has a special character, with a strong enough
resistance to heat and not easily damaged.
2. Splicing HDPE Pipes with
the Heat Fusion / Butt Fusion Method
Recommended for connection
diameter ≥ 63 mm, the Heat Fusion / Butt Fusion connection system basically
uses the principle of melting the pipe surface by using an electric heater and
a temperature controller. After heating reaches the melting point, the two pipe
surfaces are found and a connection occurs. Butt Fusion splicing involves
heating together at both ends of the pipe to be joined until the melting
conditions.
3. Splicing HDPE Pipes with
the Electro Fusion Method
Recommended for connecting
to difficult areas and repairing installations / repairing diameters from 20 mm
to 400 mm in diameter, how to connect HDPE pipes / electrofusion fittings by
using an electrofusion machine. HDPE pipe joints that use electrofusion
fittings have 2x stronger strength compared to the strength of the pipe. This
is due to the electrofusion fitting wrapping the connected part, so the
thickness of the connected part becomes thicker than the other parts. Splicing
system with electro fusion socket that has been equipped with a built-in
heating element. The electrical fusion socket is connected by an automatic
fusion device.
