Drill cloth is a fabric spun with a sloping or diagonal texture and has a strong thread. Drills are usually made of cotton or polyester.
Light or thin drill cloths are usually used as clothing materials such as shirts, safari jackets, blouses, and sportswear. For thicker drills it is usually used as a corset material and work wear or uniform material. The most common uses of this drill cloth are sportswear and uniform in the form of khaki. Khaki is taken from Hindi namely "khak" which means the color of dust, therefore the khaki model is usually brown in color.
Drill fabrics tend to be khaki colored or similar to the color of dust, so in the old days this drill cloth was commonly used for the manufacture of army uniforms because the colors matched the color of the environment so it was suitable for camouflage. During the second world war drill cloth was very popular as a material for making military uniforms. After the second world war many soldiers returned to campus so the drill cloth became popular because it was used to make casual clothes.
