VMI Continuous proportional blending
The possibilities of proportional blending closer, in place or time, to the further rubber transformation processes, gives you more flexibility: two or even three different input compounds can be proportionally blended in various requested different output compounds. This can also take place outside your central mixing department. This will reduce your stock of compounds and simplify your logistics and allows more justin- time compound preparation. It can even be combined within a next extrusion-shaping step in further processing. By simultaneously feeding strips of two or more batches of the same type to the same feed-in opening, a desired cross-blending effect can be achieved.
VMI Continuous final mixing
The volumetric controlled mixing-extrusion in combination with accurate dosing of granules, containing vulcanizing agent and accelerators, by a loss in weight feeder, represents the VMI’s continuous mixing solution: ‘the more economical alternative to mixing in an internal mixer’. However, doing the final mixing closer, in place or time, to the further rubber transformation processes, also opens up other perspectives. As final mixing can be done more just-in-time, this helps overcome problems with the limited shelf lives of final compounds. It can even be combined within a next extrusion-shaping step in the further processing. Furthermore, it helps avoid air conditioned transportation of final batches or allows more long distance transportation of master batches from a central mixing plant to remote further-processing plants. By simultaneously feeding strips of several master batches of the same type, a desired cross-blending effect can be achieved.
Combining VMI continuous proportional blending and VMI continuous final mixing in one system opens up even more perspectives for decentralized just-in-time final compound preparation without the need for internal mixers.
