Product Specification Medium Density FiberBoard
Medium Density Board (MDF) is made to cover some weaknesses of plywood whose surface is less smooth, easily cracked and broken at width sizes that are too small and results in rough cuts. MDF material is very smooth on the surface and the bonds between the materials are very strong. Only one disadvantage compared to plywood is the loss of wood motifs on the surface.
At present the MDF is the most favorite material for manufacturing office furniture and all sheet-based furniture.
From logs of various sizes, the skin is peeled and then logs are cut and cut to a certain size. Incidentally, the factories that I have seen in the logs used are on average under 20cm in diameter and maximum length of 100cm.
Then the pieces of logs must go through the 'screening' process using a very strong magnetic device to find if there are nails, screws or other metals in the wood. Foreign objects (metal) can damage the blade of chips and press machines.
The small logs are then put into a special machine to be made into small chips (small pieces). If the chips are still too large will be reprocessed to become smaller chips.
