Sago Flour

Sago flour is a type of flour that is commonly used as an ingredient in making cakes or other types of food. Sago flour itself has similar characteristics as tapioca flour. The difference is that tapioca flour is made from cassava tree trunks and sago flour is made from palm trees.

Sago flour has a different texture with tepung terigu, wheat flour, cornstarch, rice flour, and tapioca flour. This is because sago flour has a fairly soft texture and is a bit rough when it has not been processed. However, if it has been given water or has been in the form of a dough, the result is a slightly pale white color, and if you hold it you will feel a rough and slightly gritty texture. When cooked, the texture will thicken like glue.

Sago flour is used in the manufacture of various dishes. Such as pempek, bika Ambon, cheese sago cake, sago rice, sago porridge, and so on.
