Snap Hook is a tool that is used to lift the load by attaching the load to the chain hook. The hook shape resembles a question mark. This tool is often referred to as a ganco or hook tool. There are various types of snap hooks, some of which are:

1. Clevis hook

Clevis hook is a type of Snap Hook that is connected directly to a chain. In terms of price, this type of Snap Hook is more affordable because it does not require the use of additional components in the form of a connecting link. The disadvantage of this Snap Hook is that there is a limit to the flexibility of movement where the hook is connected to the chain.

The clevis hook is equipped with a “U” shaped clevis which is secured with a nut. This type of chain hook is an alternative to eye hooks. Its non-permanent nature means users can easily replace parts of the hook if it breaks.

2. Eye hook

An eye hook is a Snap Hook that requires a coupler or connecting link before it can be connected to a sling or chain hook. The main advantage of this type of Snap Hook is the high flexibility of movement. The drawback is that it is permanent. If there is damage to the eye or eye, then all parts must be replaced.
