Uses of Siamese ConnectionSiamese connection is one of the supporting components in the fire hydrant system. Siamese connection serves to support the water supply. If the water in the reservoir (reservoir) is no longer sufficient, the siamese connection is in charge of distributing water from the fire engine to the building fire fighting system.
In one siamese connection unit has three main parts, namely:1. Head SectionThe head of the siamese connection consists of two rubber holes that function as connectors with different diameter sizes as needed. It is in this component of the connector that the fire hose is connected from the fire engine. The smaller the connector diameter, the greater the water pressure that can be generated.2. Upright PipeThe standpipe section of the siamese connection is between the two rubber connectors. When firefighters activate the pump and distribute the water, the process first passes through the standpipe which then goes to the check valve.3. Check ValveThe check valve siamese connection is installed in the ground with a cover or valve head made of rubber, so that the incoming water flow can be restrained and does not cause feedback or counter pressure from inside the building.
After the flow of water supplied from the fire engine enters and passes through the check valve, then the water flow will not be able to flow back to the direction where the water entered from the standpipe but continues to be pushed by pressure to the building fire fighting system.
That's the part contained in the siamese connection. In order for the flow of water to be perfect to extinguish the fire, you need to use a fire hose, and still wear a helmet and firefighter suit to avoid the danger of a blazing fire.
