Types of Ship Steering Commonly Found In Indonesia

Is one type of component of shipping equipment that has a very important function. This product is used to rotate the direction of the ship so that it is as desired. The ship's rudder is connected to the ship's steering system and special mechanics so that it is able to move the ship's bow. There are many kinds and varieties, but in Indonesia, there are only a few types that are used in Indonesia, including:

1. Ordinary Steering

This type of ship rudder is mounted on the aft side of the main axle. This type of rudder is mounted on small ships that have a single propeller such as speedboats and patrol boats.

2. Steering Balance (Balance)

Also known as full balance steering, the steering leaf which is located in front of the swivel shaft has a transition size ranging from 25% to 30%. While the rest are on the rear side of the rotary shaft.

3. Patent Steering

Is a type of ship rudder that has a star contra type propeller, namely a fixed leaf propeller. The propeller is mounted on the rudder height on the ship. With the shape of the blades that are designed in such a way, the star contra steering is able to change the direction of motion of the whirlpool behind.
