Types of Stainlees Plates
1. Martensitic Stainless
The first type of stainless plate is martensitic. This type has a material from a combination of iron and chrome and has a very high carbon content of about 35% and a lower chromium of only about 1%. This stainless plate has magnetic characteristics, moderate erosion resistance, and poor weldability. Usually used for cutlery, scalpels, surgical instruments and so on.
2. Ferritic Stainless
Stainless ferritic plate is a type of plate that has a low carbon element with a chromium composition of about 10.5 to 18 percent. The use of this stainless plate has characteristics that have moderate corrosion resistance, minimal fabrication, cannot be hardened by heat treatment, and so on. Commonly used for vehicle exhaust, architectural trim, and household appliances.
3. Austenitic Stainless
Next there is austenitic, this type of stainless plate has elements of a combination of iron, chrome, nickel and iron, chrome, nickel, manganese. This type remains strong even at low temperatures, has non-magnetic characteristics and is commonly used for ovens, sinks, and others.
4. Duplex Stainless
This type of stainless plate has a high content of chromium and low nickel. Its corrosion-resistant and easy-to-weld characteristics are widely used in heat exchangers, marine applications, and others.
5. Precipitation-hardening Stainless
Stainless plate This type is a type of stainless steel whose elements are iron, chromium, and nickel plus titanium, boron, and beryllium. Commonly used for aerospace applications, mechanical components, and others.
